Principal Consultant

Will’s interest in the environment took hold while he was reading for his Bachelor degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Inspired by the notion that scientific knowledge needed to be communicated simply and effectively in order to put sustainability into action, Will read for two masters degrees in related environmental, business and legal topics.

Before joining Best Foot Forward, Will was the Managing Consultant of another consultancy specialising in product environmental compliance and footprinting. His experience in working with multi-national corporations, and their supply chains, in developing and implementing holistic sustainability strategies with a 'plan for tomorrow, not for today' approach has been applied to a broad range of projects and sectors. In particular, Will has detailed knowledge of the environmental pressures and sustainability strategies within electronic, food and beverage, and office-based sectors. He is an Associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).

• Product portfolio footprint for a major UK retailer
• Global sustainability metric tool development for a global beverage packaging producer

Unlike most British consultants, Will only became British in 2010 after washing up on the shores in 2006 following a transcontinental migration through America, Australia, Africa and the Pacific Ocean. The result has been a slightly unidentifiable accent, a range of knowledge spanning a variety of cultures and organisational ethos, and the acquisition of a commemorative (organic cotton) t-shirt.
