Richard Sheane

Senior Consultant

Richard joined the company in 2008 in a combined consultant and analyst role. He has an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a BSc in Biochemistry & Microbiology from Leeds University – where he also completed a postgraduate diploma in journalism.

Having previously worked as an environmental consultant in the UK agricultural sector, Richard has a particularly strong grasp of food chain sustainability issues. His training in professional writing enables him to present complex information with clarity. He has worked on a number of regional, corporate and product footprinting projects for large public sector and corporate clients.

Richard was a member of the Technical Working Group during the development of the WRI/WBCSD Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, and has completed training for providing CEMARS (Certified Emissions Measurement and Reduction Scheme) certification services to clients.

• Development of food sustainability dashboard for Landshare
• A review of agricultural GHG accounting tools for the Scottish Government
• Carbon assessment of Wimbledon championships for the All England Lawn Tennis Club
• Research into global emissions data sources for The Carbon Trust
• Carbon footprint of Scottish dairy supply chain for the Scottish Government
• Product carbon footprint of Carling lager for Molson-Coors
• Development of emissions reductions scenarios for the Countryside Council for Wales
• Carbon footprint of beef production for the National Trust

In his spare time, Richard is a keen cook and wine taster. To burn off those calories he enjoys running and cycling round the country lanes of Oxfordshire.
