Michael began working with Best Foot Forward in 2010 having previously worked in Sustain's environmental accounting department for two years. At Sustain, he worked on a wide range of projects including product carbon footprinting for a large manufacturer of returnable plastic crates, a food company, a restaurant chain, a large company in the defence industry, a funeral services company and a water dispenser distributor. Prior to this he ran his own environmental consultancy, managed several European Commission research and development projects and was the owner/director of an IT business for 16 years having started his career in the finance industry.

Michael’s wide range of business experience and skills enable him to manage projects from inception to completion. Having run his own company he is aware of the pressures facing businesses and takes these into consideration when proposing solutions and agreeing project outcomes.

As an associate, his role covers initial project development with clients, agreement of scope and specification, project management, research, technical delivery, facilitation of strategic level reviews and communication of outcomes both internally and in the public domain.

Michael’s specialisms are in organisational and product carbon footprinting, life cycle assessment, environmental management systems, software solutions and client education and training programmes. Michael has worked on a number of key Best Foot Forward projects, working with pharmaceutical companies, hotel groups, finance companies, manufacturing companies and the Forestry Commission.

Michael is based in Staffordshire in the heart of the National Forest so he enjoys walking with family and dog when not gardening on the allotment or watching sport.
