"Working on the footprints of NHS organisations has been really satisfying - we can help them achieve changes that make a huge difference"

Charlotte Dickinson

Consultant

Charlotte joined Best Foot Forward in 2008 as a consultant after seven years working in the renewable energy field. Charlotte studied as a Mechanical Engineer at Reading University and continued her studies after a two year graduate training programme studying for a Masters in Renewable Energy and the Environment.

Charlotte’s experience in the renewable energy field was focused on biomass energy including the installation of small scale heating systems and development of a local supply of wood fuel. Also key to her role was the dissemination of information to community groups, schools and professional audiences. This previous experience enables Charlotte to conduct detailed analysis and present clear and concise results to clients.

Charlotte has contributed to the delivery of the following projects:

  • Carbon footprint of Forestry Commission concerts
  • Carbon footprint of a housing association
  • Ecological footprint of Welsh Assembly events
  • Carbon footprint of construction and operation of a school
  • Carbon footprint of two NHS Strategic Health Authorities
  • Carbon footprint of two NHS Primary Care Trusts
  • Carbon footprint of a hospital
  • Organisational footprint for OFCOM

In her spare time Charlotte enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter in West Yorkshire, walking on the moors and enjoying the odd hot chocolate on those windswept days.

“It’s great that we engage with larger and smaller organisations across so many sectors; calculating their carbon footprints, suggesting measures they could take and seeing the reductions they achieve. Working on the footprints of various NHS organisations has been really satisfying - we can help them achieve changes that make a huge difference.”

Favourite phrase:
"Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints."
