Queen's Award for Enterprise 2005: Sustainable Development
Best Foot Forward are delighted to announce that HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN has graciously approved the Prime Minister's recommendation that a Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development be conferred upon Best Foot Forward. This extremely prestigious Award is for continuous achievement in sustainable development. The Award also recognises that Best Foot Forward is a global leader in ecological footprinting and has helped deliver performance improvements to over 80 clients.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious awards for
business performance. It has been referred to as a 'Corporate Knighthood'. Winners enjoy worldwide recognition and extensive
media coverage. The Business Awards are presented in three categories: International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. The Sustainable Development category is the smallest award category reflecting the high standards required. The Award runs until 2010. Learn more about the Queen's Award. ACCA environmental reporting award 2003 Best Foot Forward won a prestigious ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) environmental reporting award for their 2001/2002 Environmental Report. The report makes use of BFF's Corporate Stepwise service to clearly measure, monitor and communicate the company's own environmental performance. City Limits: shortlisted for Biffaward Prize 2003 City Limits - a resource flow and ecological footprint analysis of London was shortlisted for a 2003 Biffaward prize. The Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, called the research 'ground-breaking stuff' and commended it everyone with an interest in making London a 'an exemplary, sustainable world city.' Island State: Biffaward Prize-winner 2001 BFF's pioneering work on the ecological footprint of the Isle of Wight scooped top slot to become Research & Development category and Overall Winner at the Biffaward Awards 2001. The event, hosted by the Royal Society for Nature Conservation, is designed to recognise and reward the work of environmental groups funded through Biffaward, set up using Biffa Waste Services' landfill tax credits.
