Background to Best Foot Forward

Founded in 1997 by Nicky Chambers and Craig Simmons, Best Foot Forward Limited (BFF) design and develop tools to measure and communicate environmental impact and sustainability using methodologies such as resource flow and ecological footprint analysis.

In 1999, BFF responded to the demand for greenhouse gas emissions reporting by taking the lead in developing several carbon reporting products and services.

BFF's pioneering work on ecological footprint analysis was recognised in 2001 when their study of the Isle of Wight scooped top slot to become Research & Development category and Overall Winner at the Biffaward Awards.

BFF is also committed to ensuring that its own operations meet best environmental and social standards (see our Corporate Citizenship Statement). In 2003, Best Foot Forward won a prestigious ACCA environmental reporting award for their 2001/2002 Environmental Report. Read the ACCA press release and judges' comments on the awards page. The report makes use of BFF's Corporate Stepwise service. A follow-up 2003/2004 Report has since been published.
